Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist / Manager. This role suitable for a senior paralegal or contract professional who can independently manage the full lifecycle of government and commercial contracts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of FAR / DFARS, federal procurement regulations, and the ability to partner across departments to ensure compliance and alignment with business goals.
Location : On-site- North Colorado Springs Schedule : 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM Monday-Friday- 3 month contract with potential to get hired permanently Compensation : $40.00-$45.00 / hour DOE
Key Responsibilities :
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various agreements including NDAs, teaming agreements, subcontracts, and service contracts.
Interpret and apply FAR, DFARS, and related government contracting regulations.
Maintain accurate and organized contract files, including key milestones, deliverables, and renewal deadlines.
Collaborate with internal teams (legal, finance, procurement, and operations) to align contract terms with operational and compliance objectives.
Provide research and summaries on legal, regulatory, and contractual issues.
Support internal and external audits by ensuring full contract documentation and compliance.
Identify and escalate contract-related risks and support resolution of disputes or performance issues.
Contribute to the development of standardized templates, processes, and policies to streamline contract management.
Prepare status reports and compliance summaries for leadership.
Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
Paralegal certification preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in contracts management or paralegal work with government contractors.
Solid knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR / DFARS) and government procurement processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency with contract management software and MS Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with GSA schedules, IDIQs, and task orders.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ITAR, FCPA, or CMMC.
Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
