Job Objective
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for several important and impactful programs within the Command, including Safe from Harm compliance, OSHA and Workers Comp Reporting, Background Administration for Volunteers and Employees, as well as recruitment for assigned Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs).
Essential Functions
- Review and approve termination paperwork from Centers
- Serve as main point of contact for FMLA / PLOA / ADA requests
Safe From Harm
Ensure compliance with Safe from Harm policyMaintain database of trained employees and coordinatorsConduct investigations and follow up on reportsProvide training and respond to inquiriesWorkers Comp and OSHA Reporting
Review quarterly reports and follow up with CentersCoordinate OSHA incident reportingMaintain lists of stores and warehouses for reporting purposesPension Administration
Produce quarterly lists for the Territorial Pension DepartmentRespond to inquiries about pension eligibility and proceduresMotor Vehicle Report Administration
Oversee annual MVR update projectEnsure compliance with driving privileges requirementsEEO-1 Reporting
Create and submit accurate EEO-1 reports for assigned ARCsRecruitment
Manage full-cycle recruitment for ARC Command and assigned ARCsConduct reference checks and communicate with candidatesUtilize various resources to attract quality candidates
