About VLP : The Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. (VLP) is a not-for-profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low-income people and small non-profit groups in a variety of legal matters including, but not limited to : detained and non-detained immigration, family law, eviction defense, matrimonial matters, consumer matters, estates, and end of life planning. Intern with VLP and help give a voice to those who are not heard!

NON-DETAINED IMMIGRATION PROGRAM INTERNSHIP

Location : 438 Main Street 7th Floor Buffalo, NY 14202; Hybrid schedule possible.

Qualifications : Current student or recent graduate. A strong interest in immigration law and a desire to work with a diverse population is required.

Description : The Buffalo Immigration Office works with immigrants in non-detained removal proceedings and other immigration matters. The immigration intern will assist in preparing immigration applications, conduct country conditions research, attend client intakes and interviews, observe immigration court hearings, and support community outreach by assisting with workshops, or "Know Your Rights" presentations.
