This role is pivotal in developing, validating, and optimizing production processes while ensuring efficient material use and product quality.
The engineer will serve as a corporate resource, working on-site with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Training & Knowledge Sharing Design and implement structured train-the-trainer programs to standardize process knowledge across sites.
Interpret machine and mold prints with proficiency.
Understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to support operational excellence.
New Product & Process Development Lead process development for new product launches, ensuring robust, repeatable, and efficient molding operations.
Direct resin and material qualification efforts, including recycled and bio-based materials.
Incorporate sustainable practices and materials into manufacturing workflows.
Equipment & Process Validation Support qualification and requalification of molding machines, tooling, and support equipment.
Perform audits to verify process integrity, compliance, and efficiency.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex process-related issues.
Collaborate with operations, quality, and engineering teams to resolve persistent technical challenges.
Regulatory Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and quality standards.
Maintain flexibility to work a minimum of 45 hours per week and provide shift support when necessary.
Demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented mindset to support cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
3+ years of hands-on experience in blow molding, or plastics processing.
Skilled in molding machine setup, process development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Strong experience supporting new product introductions and resin / material evaluations.
Working knowledge of CAD tools is a plus.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Willingness to travel to support multiple manufacturing sites.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand / walk for extended periods and lift / carry 30–50 lbs.
Capable of repetitive motion tasks involving hands, arms, and fingers.
Must be able to climb stairs, squat, and perform tasks requiring good coordination.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with temperatures ranging from 60°F to 110°F.
Able to detect visual defects, colors, and variations with accuracy.
Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
