Position Summary

GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low maintenance, zero-downtime platforms, and applications powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

Position Description

The Senior Engineer (Software / Machine Learning) reports to a Senior Staff Engineering Manager of Document Platform under GEICO Platform Engineering organization. This tech lead works with other engineers to innovate and build a unified and modernized document management system that integrates with multiple business applications to serve critical business processes. You will lead the strategy and execution of the technical roadmap of the document intelligence sub-area of the entire document management platform. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in both general AI / ML , Document AI and production-ready software system development.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will :

• Focus on building and operating machine learning models that will be consumed in document management domain contribute to the end-to-end ML system building.
• Coordinate and collaborate with product managers, engineering team members and customers to solve complex problems
• Leverage open-source frameworks and embrace the cloud native development paradigm
• Mentor and help coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community
• Always push for engineering excellence; Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.

Annual Salary

$80,000.00 - $215,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate / annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
