Overview
In collaboration with the Project Execution leadership and cross-functional teams, the Project Manager guides utility-scale solar and BESS projects throughout the full project life cycle from early development and pre-construction planning to execution and commercial operation. This role ensures projects are thoroughly planned and risk-mitigated through constructability reviews, risk analysis, budgeting, scheduling, and EPC RFP management, while also leading safe, quality, on time, and on budget execution by third party EPC contractors. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring company EPC KPI's are exceeded in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Improvement, and for ensuring a seamless transition from project concept to commercial operation.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Development to conduct constructability reviews, site visits, permitting coordination, and early risk assessment throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the development of detailed project management and construction strategy including implementation plans, budgets, and schedules
- Coordinate with Cost Estimating & Controls to develop and maintain project budgeting and cash spend forecasts
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies with stakeholders host weekly project status meetings
- Participate in the identification and selection of suppliers
- Manage the EPC RFP process including the scoping, identification, evaluation, selection, and final approval.
- Oversee EPC contractors to ensure safe, high quality, on time, and on budget delivery
- Act as the face of the company and project team by fostering strong, positive relationships with landowners, AHJ's, utilities, suppliers, and contractors
- Understanding compliance requirements of project contracts like power purchase agreements, Interconnection agreements, and land use permits and all other required permitting
- Presenting and reporting to management on cash flow, schedule and risks
- Managing Operations and Maintenance contract handoff and coordination and ensure closeout of EPC contract at Final Acceptance
- Act as a project liaison with all internal departments, consultants, landlords, governing authorities, etc. and coordinate towards common goals while making critical decisions in a professional manner
- Ability to effectively coordinate and handle, under pressure, multiple projects with a high degree of independence and professional judgment to deliver projects and meeting Company / Team KPI's of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Improvement

Education & Experience Required
Embrace and live by the mission and values of Cypress Creek RenewablesMinimum of a Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, project management, or equivalent preferred3-5 years in the renewable energy sector or industrial construction or capital project managementStrong organizational skills and high attention to detail, decision making / problem solving, analytical and time management skills.Advanced knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, and supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics, as well as project lifecyclesDemonstrated experience in building and maintaining critical path method schedulesExtensive experience with EPC and BOP construction contracting; including RFP process, bid review, and negotiation of contract terms; renewable energy contracting experience is highly preferredProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including MS ProjectProcore, Sales Force, SharePoint, Scheduling Software experience and proficiency preferredExperience in negotiating contracts with contract managersAbility to travel 50% on averageBasic knowledge of construction labor relations throughout the USWorks well under pressure and on a deadline, enjoys working with a variety of peopleLocation : The preferred location for this role is remote in Houston, Texas
