The Engineering Technician provides hands-on product development and product improvement activities within the Profit Center. The Engineering Technician also trains and serves as a liaison between engineering and production during the new product development process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides hands-on process activities (such as masking, blasting, thermal spraying, painting, etc.) during product development in support of engineering.
- Develops process related methods / parameters (such as masking, blasting, thermal spraying, painting, etc.) during engineering process development.
- Provides hands-on training to production employees during the new product introduction phase.
- Ensures the functionality of existing production tooling and contributes to new tooling designs.
- Communicates accuracy of existing production work instructions, routers, and efficiency standards.
- Provides basic robotic programming in support of development and process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in production throughout improvement activities to support cycle time reduction efforts.
- Provides accurate direct labor and material usage projections for cost estimate activities.
Qualification / Experience :
10 years of hands on HVOF and Plasma spray experience with ability to rebuild guns and powder feeders and help diagnose equipment issues and work with maintenance to repair.Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and geometry to practical situations.Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR / EAR requirement.
