Engineer Technician

The Engineering Technician provides hands-on product development and product improvement activities within the Profit Center. The Engineering Technician also trains and serves as a liaison between engineering and production during the new product development process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provides hands-on process activities (such as masking, blasting, thermal spraying, painting, etc.) during product development in support of engineering.
• Develops process related methods / parameters (such as masking, blasting, thermal spraying, painting, etc.) during engineering process development.
• Provides hands-on training to production employees during the new product introduction phase.
• Ensures the functionality of existing production tooling and contributes to new tooling designs.
• Communicates accuracy of existing production work instructions, routers, and efficiency standards.
• Provides basic robotic programming in support of development and process improvement initiatives.
• Participates in production throughout improvement activities to support cycle time reduction efforts.
• Provides accurate direct labor and material usage projections for cost estimate activities.
