Associate Director Of The Center Of Excellence For Project Management

The Opportunity : As the Associate Director of the Center of Excellence for Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving our company's project management initiatives to new heights. This leadership position requires a strong project management background and a passion for building a strong center of excellence centered around project management and its five pillars : quality; operational oversight and consistency; tools, processes, analytics; education, training and mentoring; and knowledge management for the discipline of project management. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining best practices, methodologies, and standards in project management across our organization in order to increase effectiveness and build consistency around project management / controls. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Business Operations.

What You'll Do :

  • Leadership and Strategy : Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Center of Excellence for Project Management. Lead a team of project management professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Including workforce planning, performance reviews, team retention, and team engagement. Directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines on a project of significant scope or a combination of large projects. Collaborate with senior leadership to align project management efforts with Ulteig's overall goals and strategic initiatives. Manage the budget for the Center of Excellence, ensuring cost-effective operations. Allocate resources efficiently to support project management initiatives.
  • Process Improvement : Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency in project management practices, processes, tools and analytics. Develop and implement consistent project management methodologies to ensure consistency and quality throughout all Lifeline Sectors (LLS). Continuously evaluate project management tools and technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Training and Development : Design and deliver training and mentoring programs for project managers and engineers to enhance their project management skills. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization.
  • Quality Assurance : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of projects. Conduct regular project reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards. Implement corrective actions and improvements as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior management. Foster a culture of effective communication and collaboration among project teams. Participates with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives for the company and / or department as needed.

What We Expect From You : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management or Business-related field required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the delivery of engineering and / or project management. Prior leadership / management required. Superior verbal and written communication skills Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent collaboration skills, presentation skills; ability to present ideas to internal / external teams, with a strong focus on business collaboration and change management practices. High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and highly responsive, internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional team of all sizes. Proficiency in p oject management software and tools. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to travel up to 30%. Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

    Additional Opportunity Details : Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $155,500 - $210,300
