This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts from 1900 to 0730. Must work 3 out of the 6 major holidays and every other weekend.

Job Description

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive patient care in a low-violence facility that serves a large indigent population. The role involves working in acute psychiatric and detox units with a focus on mental health and addiction treatment.

Responsibilities

Conduct admissions and patient assessments.

Administer medications and lead educational groups.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers.

Utilize strong communication skills to support patients effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar psychiatric setting.

Current certifications in BLS and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required; CPI certification can be obtained onsite.

IV experience is essential for some units.
