POSITION SUMMARY :

Registered Nurse (RN) PRN key responsibilities include but not limited to : Provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process. To assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. To administer and / or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION : Required : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred : BSN

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date. Is deemed a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP)

EXPERIENCE : One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).

WORK HOURS : 12 hour shifts. May be required to work flexible hours and weekends.
