The Role

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role ensures adherence to Lumen's standards for CI / CD, cloud governance, and secure software delivery while driving operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and incident response. The position requires leadership in guiding DevOps practices across teams and mentoring engineers.

The Main Responsibilities

1. CI / CD and Automation

• Design and maintain enterprise-grade CI / CD pipelines following Lumen's secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and compliance standards.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible for consistent, repeatable deployments.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to improve speed and reliability.

What We Look For in a Candidate

o Bachelor's degree in computer science, DevOps Engineer, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.5-8 years of professional experience in DevOps development, including leading teams and managing complex projects.

Technical Expertise :

oStrong proficiency in CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

oExperience with IaC (AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

oKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

o Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor engineers.

oFamiliarity with SRE principles, DORA metrics, and DevSecOps practices.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
