Job description

Electrical Design Engineer – Wire Harness Design

Fort Worth, TX – Contract

We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop wire harnesses for rotorcraft electrical systems using Siemens Capital Harness System (CHS). The role involves generating 2D / 3D drawings, schematics, and supporting documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, applying aerospace standards, conducting design reviews, and supporting verification and validation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop wire harnesses for rotorcraft electrical systems.
  • Generate detailed 2D / 3D harness drawings, schematics, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for seamless component integration.
  • Apply aerospace standards and specific design practices for compliance and reliability.
  • Conduct design reviews and support verification and validation activities.
  • Interface with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve design issues.
  • Maintain configuration control and manage design changes using PLM systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in wire harness design within aerospace or defense environments.
  • Proficiency in Siemens Capital tools (CHS, Capital Logic, Capital Design).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace electrical systems, EMI / EMC mitigation, and environmental constraints.
  • Familiarity with aircraft certification requirements and documentation standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a cross-functional engineering environment.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens software such as 3DX and CATIA.
  • Experience maintaining configuration control through PLM systems such as Teamcenter.

    • Work Environment

    On-site in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves collaborating with engineering teams and engaging with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Pay range : $45.00 – $55.00 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, short-term disability, health spending account, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, and PTO.
