TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU / Critical Care RN in Peoria, Illinois, 61605!

$2,330 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Specialty : High Acuity ICU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12 Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum of 1 year

License : Active Illinois license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

  • Experience with PEG tube care / feedings
  • CVC / PICC / Midline usage and care
  • Care for tracheostomy patients
  • Experience caring for sedated, ventilated patients
  • Ability to titrate vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips

Description :

This unit provides critical care for patients with a variety of complex health conditions.

A nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2-3 is maintained.

Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, post-surgical care, wound care, IV antibiotic administration, post-CVA care, post-trauma care, and cardiac conditions.

Nurses are responsible for primary patient care without the support of nurse aids or patient care techs.

Hospitalists and / or intensivists are available on days, with tele-health support after hours.

Respiratory therapy is onsite and available 24 / 7.

Nurses are required to troubleshoot various respiratory equipment including vents and BiPAPs.

All beds are equipped with telemetry monitors that are centrally monitored.

Self-scheduling and block scheduling are available.

Weekend and holiday rotations are required.

Floating to medical-surgical units may occur.

Scrubs must be worn, with OSF-approved t-shirts allowed.

Unit-specific orientation includes classroom training and hands-on practice with a preceptor.

Charting is conducted using an electronic system.
