Introduction
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is a constitutional officer, and the duties of this office are mandated by the Code of Virginia. The Clerk's Office provides multiple statutory and local services for residents, business professionals, legal professionals, judges, public safety officials, a variety of state and local government agencies, and the towns of Loudoun County.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court serves as the recorder of deeds and probate judge, issues marriage licenses and is the official court administrator for all civil and criminal court cases. In this latter capacity, the Clerk creates and maintains all court files and records, prepares court orders and jury lists, contacts jurors and issues summons and court processes.
Job Summary
The Loudoun County Clerk of the Circuit Court is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Civil Division Manager to oversee the operations of the Civil Division. This division manages new civil case filings, subpoena issuance, exhibit and records retention, and the processing of concealed handgun permits. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building abilities, along with a solid background in the legal field. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of navigating complex legal matters and fostering a collaborative, high-performing work environment.
Primary Responsibilities :
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Virginia Circuit Court Clerk's Office or a strong background in the legal field. A successful applicant will demonstrate a team-oriented mindset, strong analytical and writing abilities, and a commitment to exceptional customer service and innovation.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, Public Administration or department-related area and four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible work experience including one (1) year in a supervisory or management role preferably in a government setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Successful candidates will undergo background checks as required.
Certified Virginia Master Deputy Clerk and Virginia Paralegal Certification are preferred. Continuing education as a Master Deputy Clerk (once certified) is required.
