Qualifications
- United States citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an institution approved by the VA for the year of graduation.
- Full and unrestricted state medical license.
- Completed residency training accredited by the VA in an orthopedic specialty leading to board‑certification eligibility.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Preferred : Board certification.
- Physical performance : lifting up to 35 pounds, moderate carrying, and other movement tasks as listed in the original specifications.
Duties
Perform orthopedic surgical procedures including arthritis disorders, degenerative shoulder and knee disease, injuries, metastatic lesions, hip and foot / ankle surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery, total knee and hip replacement, and general joint procedures.Supervise and teach surgical residents; consult in outpatient and inpatient settings.Participate in clinical committees and other tasks assigned by the Chief of Surgery or Chief of Staff.Provide services on the work schedule of Monday–Friday, 7 : 30 am–4 : 00 pm; on‑call responsibilities as required.Compensation
Base pay range : $280,000.00–$400,000.00 per year.
