THE POSITION

The Behavioral Health Division is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor with a primary focus on administrative leadership. This position will play a central role in implementing and overseeing the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) and advancing division-wide planning, evaluation, and community engagement efforts.

Key responsibilities include :

  • BHSA : Support implementation of integrated plans and annual updates, ensuring alignment with state requirements.
  • Monitoring Behavioral Health Goals : Track statewide and local outcomes, including priority indicators such as suicide, overdose, and other key metrics.
  • Cultural Competency : Oversee division efforts to meet cultural competency requirements, ensuring services are responsive to the diverse needs of the community.
  • Community Engagement : Facilitate stakeholder meetings, focus groups, and advisory committees to gather input and promote transparency in decision-making.
  • Representation & Partnerships : Participate in state-level calls, interagency collaborations, and public meetings on behalf of the division.
  • Leadership & Supervision : Provide supervision to assigned clinical and / or administrative staff, supporting professional development and effective program implementation.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated and community-driven professional, who is passionate about providing quality mental health services. The candidate should have a strong background in mental health related settings providing direct services to mentally or emotionally disabled persons. The ability to provide effective peer support and supervision is essential.

Additionally, the Medical Health Clinical Supervisor must be adept at managing competing demands, multiple priorities, and reflect the County's Core Values.

EXPERIENCE

At least one year of experience in providing clinical and / or administrative oversight to newly hired and / or lower-level staff in a mental health setting; AND

Two years of experience equivalent to the Mental Health Clinician (Licensed) in Solano County OR

Four years of experience following licensure or registration for licensure in a mental health related setting providing direct services to mentally or emotionally disabled persons, including dual diagnosis and addiction issues for those assigned to the substance abuse settings; AND

LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Current licensure by the State of California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners as either a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or current licensure by the State of California Board of Psychology as a Psychologist.

Note : Loss of the required State licensure shall result in termination or reassignment, if such a vacancy exists and the incumbent meets the minimum requirements for the vacant position. (Such action will be taken in accordance with Civil Service Commission rules).

Independent travel may be required.

Driver's License : Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver's License may be required at the time of appointment. Loss of the Class C Driver's License is a cause for discipline. Individuals who do not meet this driver's license requirement due to a physical disability will be considered for accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

Assignment Requirements : Some positions in these classes may require work in an out-station location or in a setting with other professionals integrated as a team.

A current State of California license (MFT, LCSW, or Psychologist) is required for this position. However, proof of this licensure requirement must be submitted prior to appointment.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS

To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
