Job Description
A local and well-established company in the North Little Rock area is seeking a Buyer to join their team! This position will start out as contract but there is strong potential to go perm. The Manufacturing Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and equipment necessary for production.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and maintain reliable supply.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with production planning, engineering, and quality teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
- Analyze purchase requirements and issue purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies and lead times.
- Resolve issues related to material shortages, delays, or quality discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing data, and supplier documentation in ERP / MRP systems.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to improve supply chain resilience and competitiveness.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the procurement process.
- Ensure compliance with all corporate purchasing policies, ethical standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience with raw materials such as steel, plastic, and electrical components is preferred but not required
