About the Role : Join our dynamic team as a PRN Medical Assistant, where you will provide vital clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory care environment under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. Your responsibilities will include patient care tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, and clerical support, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality urgent care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Help achieve department goals while adhering to policies and safety standards.
- Assist providers and patients during examinations and office procedures, ensuring efficient patient flow and supporting the clinical care team.
- Participate in daily team meetings to prepare for patient visits, addressing preventative care needs and organizing follow-up tasks.
- Conduct motivational interviews, assessing patient education needs and potential behavioral health concerns.
- Report any patient-related issues and participate in initiatives to enhance care quality and patient safety.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring proper management of medications, supplies, and equipment.
- Engage with patients in self-management support, population management activities, and health goal setting.
- Perform necessary patient and laboratory testing and document activities accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Escort and assist patients during discharge processes, providing necessary chaperoning.
- Fulfill assigned infection prevention duties, including equipment cleaning and inventory management.
- Provide telephone screening to gather patient information and document it according to protocols.
- Under provider supervision, perform specific clinical procedures such as IV insertion and phlebotomy.
- Facilitate medication refills and pre-authorizations while maintaining effective communication with insurance companies.
- Work across multiple sites within the organization to provide consistent care and support.
- Attending meetings and training sessions related to safety and infection control is essential.

Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.Less than 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting is required, with preference given to candidates with prior medical assistant experience.Licenses and Certifications : Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) must be obtained within the first year; CPR certification for healthcare providers is required within 90 days.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Clinical competency and patient interaction skills.Basic computer proficiency is preferred.This position offers a competitive pay range of USD $19.17 - USD $33.08 per hour.
