Job Title : EHS Specialist

Pay : up to $80,000

Job Description

As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for managing programs, policies, and practices related to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. You will act as the facility coordinator and main contact for internal customers and external agencies, ensuring compliance with all EHS regulatory requirements and company standards. Your role includes conducting EHS floor walks, supporting the EHS Manager, and participating in incident investigations to ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage programs, policies, and practices related to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Act as the facility coordinator and contact for internal and external EHS matters.
• Conduct EHS floor walks to ensure safety policies and regulations are met.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulatory requirements.
• Support the location EHS Manager in EHS process implementation and oversight.
• Demonstrate knowledge of EHS management systems and assist in their development and implementation.
• Write procedures, administer requirements, and conduct recordkeeping.
• Participate in incident investigation teams and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate the development of systems to ensure incident and quarterly metric compliance.
• Assist with site emergencies and coordinate training.
• Provide oversight for the EHS Internal Audit Self-Assessment Program.
• Provide direction and oversight for EHS Single Point Accountable (SPA) responsibilities.
• Coordinate EHS training programs and provide training for employees.
• Prepare and submit reports to company and regulatory bodies.
• Lead risk assessment and risk prediction activities to mitigate task-based risks.
• Support continuous improvement projects to reduce EHS risks.

Work Environment

This role involves collaboration with the EHS Manager to oversee EHS responsibilities at the Cleveland and Brecksville facilities. Most work will be conducted in Cleveland, with 1-2 days per week at Brecksville. Standard working hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional need for flexibility to lead safety training or meetings during off shifts, typically 1-2 times per month.
