Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting on a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) unit with 15 LDRP beds Care for obstetric, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and high-risk pregnancy patients, including those with hypertension or diabetes Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3 and 1 : 1 for laboring patients, following AWHONN guidelines RNs are required to titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia No floating required except in rare critical staffing situations, limited to sitting or tasks Uses EPIC for electronic medical records Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (6 : 45pm–7 : 15am), scheduled by manager Every other weekend required and holiday coverage as needed Deliver care to a patient population of approximately 400 births per year Unit does not require RNs to manage respiratory equipment beyond troubleshooting Charge nurse present on each shift and may take an assignment Blue Distinction designated, breastfeeding-friendly unit known for high patient experience scores One week of classroom orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the floor provided Holiday coverage may be required based on unit need Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved Requirements Active NE or compact RN license in hand; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum of 3 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required Current BLS and NRP certifications required Must provide a copy of driver’s license for permanent address verification Two references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Must pass a 90% open book skills exam during orientation; failure results in termination Artificial nails prohibited per patient care policy RNs cannot be current or recent employees (within 1 year) of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility per radius rule Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628917.
