Job descriptionRepresent clients in civil court proceedings related to consumer debt collection lawsuits. Review and assess legal claims brought by creditors, debt buyers, and collection agencies. Develop case strategies and defenses based on applicable federal and state consumer protection laws (e.g., FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA). Draft legal documents including answers, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements. Appear in court for hearings, trials, and settlement conferences. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and creditors. Advise clients on legal rights, options, and potential outcomes related to debt-related matters. Conduct legal research to support case preparation and client defense. Maintain accurate case records and manage a high-volume caseload efficiently. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members. Attorney Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar in good standing.
