McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, surface mines, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US.

MRD is seeking a full-time FieldTechnician that will be based out of our Cheney, WA office. The Blast Technician will spend most of his or her time on the road visiting numerous surface mines and construction sites throughout the eastern Washington and Idaho regions. The main responsibility of a Blast Technician consists of boretraking and flying a drone to develop a 3D model that will be used for drilling and blasting purposes. The ideal candidate must have a clean driving record, can pass a pre-employment drug test, clean background, and must be willing to travel most of the time. Minimum responsibilities include :

• Complies with all MRD safety policies and procedures
• Boretraking for borehole deviation in rock pits and surface mines
• Expected to operate a drone safely and efficiently
• Ability to create and develop 3D models using different software
• Expected to collect content while in the field for social media purposes
• Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel and management
• Ability to work early mornings and long days
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Expected to produce results with little to no supervision
