Demonstration of customer service values. Description : Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Explains examination procedures to patients, preparing them for the examination. Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examinations. Obtains additional information about the patient medical history as necessary. Prepares the procedure room and regularly replenishes supplies. Analyzes anatomical structures of patients, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan. Manually controls the equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information. Administers intravenous contrast media and utilizes power injectors. Monitors patients for possible reactions and provides immediate care if necessary. Prepares and sets up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and stored properly. Assists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures. Performs imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection. Resolves image exceptions to ensure high-quality image delivery into the system. Completes all study indexing within the Radiology Information System. Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies. Demonstrates consistent team member standards of excellence. Performs all necessary documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system. May work in various environments, including fixed units or ambulatory settings. May be exposed to radiation or contagious patients and may need to lift equipment or patients exceeding 10 lbs.
