About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift : Mon-Thurs + 1 weekend / month + 1-2 call shifts / week

Hours per Shift : 9 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have : Experience in Orthopedic, GYN, and general surgery. Previous travel experience in an operating room unit is required.

Description :

The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room.

Candidates must have experience with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.

The role includes working with various cases such as total joints, cesarean sections, laparoscopic surgeries, and general endoscopy.

Average daily cases range from 6 to 10, with the possibility of up to 20 on occasion.

RNs are not required to scrub in.

There is no charge nurse taking an assignment during shifts.

Operating Room technicians will be present.

The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.

Shifts are scheduled from 0700-1630 or 0600-1530, with team / self-scheduling options.

Call requirements include 1-2 shifts per week based on need and one weekend per month.

Response time for on-call duties is 15 minutes.

Floating to assist other departments may be required occasionally without patient load.

Scrub colors and dress code will be provided.

Candidates must adhere to specific radius rules regarding prior affiliations.

Request for time off is limited to 7 days or less upfront for the duration of the contract.

Cancellations may occur for up to 4 shifts during the assignment duration.

The trauma level is classified as CAH.

The care setting is acute.
