Surgical Tech
POSITION OVERVIEW : (non-exempt)
Surgical Technologists are allied health professionals who are part of a team providing surgical care to patients.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Successful graduation of a program meeting the minimum requirements defined in the core curriculum for Surgical Technology (CAAHEP accredited)
- Experience preferred
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Reports to Perioperative Manager, Perioperative Assistant Nurse Manager

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS :
Demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.Demonstrates application of the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner that provides for optimal patient care in Peri-Op and Endoscopy under conditions that maximize patient safety.Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation.Demonstrates ability to scrub and uses knowledge and expertise to anticipate and provide components for all basic and advanced cases.Demonstrates ability to maintain Peri-Op and Endoscopy supplies, equipment, instrumentation, linen and inventories and reprocessing to facilitate invasive and diagnostic procedures.Assists with surgical specimen management.Cleans, restocks, checks outdates, documents and accomplishes other assignments on a routine basis.Demonstrates responsible behavior and provides safe and effective conduct as a member of the healthcare team.Attends all required meetings and inservices.WORK ENVIRONMENT :
