Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for an outpatient rehabilitation setting with a valid Michigan license and at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an outpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Thursday 7 : 00am-6 : 15pm, Friday 7 : 00am-4 : 45pm
  • No weekend, call, or float requirements
  • Patient care includes both individual and group Physical Therapy activities
  • May require cross-training and coverage for other Rehabilitation Services departments as needed
  • Provide direct patient care following the plan and goals set by the Physical Therapist
  • Facilitate family and community education as part of care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and hospital rounds
  • Assist with program development and provide in-services in areas of expertise
  • Supervise Rehab Clinical Assistants, PTA students, and volunteers
  • Document care in the electronic health record and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in process improvement and serve on committees or task forces
  • Modules are self-reported, completed during orientation and annually
  • Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions

    • Requirements

  • Valid Michigan Physical Therapist Assistant license required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
  • Ability to lift and move patients up to 20 pounds, with occasional heavier tasks
  • Proof of Flu vaccination or exemption required
  • References required
