Project Manager - Faculty and Departmental Diversity Initiatives (7398U), Equity & Inclusion — University of California, Berkeley.
The Division of Equity & Inclusion (E&I) leads campus-wide efforts to transform UC Berkeley into a learning and working environment where everyone belongs and prospers. This role supports academic transformation initiatives, networks, and projects related to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice (DEIBJ).
Responsibilities
- Lead program and project administration for a range of DEIBJ initiatives, networks, and projects, reporting to the Director for Faculty & Departmental Diversity Initiatives.
- Program Management And Coordination : schedule, manage and track events, convenings, seminars, retreats and meetings within the DEIBJ portfolio; oversee departmental planning for DEIBJ; manage networks, consulting, training and professional development initiatives; organize meetings with senior university stakeholders.
- General project administration : event logistics, communications, materials, intake of requests, training coordination, program infrastructure, reimbursements, and staffing of meetings.
- Website And Communication : create and maintain primary web pages for Faculty and Departmental Diversity Initiatives; update policies and resources; develop tools to support networks and communities of practice related to the Division.
- Chancellor's Award for Advancing Institutional Excellence and Equity : manage the yearly award cycle, campus-wide nomination and selection process, and plan the annual award reception.
- Ad-hoc And Special Projects : support special requests and one-time events; analyze post-meeting data; research DEIBJ literature and peer practices; develop tools and resources with the Director.
- General Administrative Support : provide administrative support to the Division, including purchasing, reimbursements, and event logistics; maintain familiarity with campus systems.
Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment and knowledge on issues related to equity, inclusion and diversity in higher education.Advanced project development and project management skills across multifaceted portfolios.Strong administrative operations knowledge (event planning, information / materials management, risk management, website management, budgeting, general accounting).Excellent verbal and written communication, with stakeholders including faculty, staff and administrators.Active listening, critical thinking, and synthesis skills; research experience in DEIBJ or higher education preferred.Experience working with higher education faculty, staff, and administrators, or equivalent.Ability to learn campus processes and use common campus applications; highly organized; ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes; discretion and confidentiality.Collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork and supporting colleagues.Education
Bachelor's degree in a related area and / or equivalent experience / training.Salary & Benefits
The budgeted salary range is $80,000.00 - $93,000.00. This is a 12-month, full-time contract position eligible for UC benefits, with potential for extension. Hybrid position with up to 40% remote capability. This role is exempt and paid monthly.
