We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial records, preparing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a wholesale distribution organization's financial operation. Any experience with Epicor would be a plus!
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage and reconcile sales tax filings for multiple jurisdictions.
• Record and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and balanced.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and adjustments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline accounting processes.
• Conduct periodic audits to verify the accuracy of financial data and adherence to company policies.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide support during financial reviews and external audits.

• Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.
• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger tasks.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
