Nearly every person who enters a hospital walks past the welcome desk. What happens when they do can often dictate how the rest of their day goes. There's no denying that having a welcoming, supportive person at that desk is important. A person who knows how to treat each and every request with a smile and a timely response. Some days the job will be slow enough to carry on lingering conversations. Other days the time will fly by as you answer phones, provide wheelchair assistance, and help people get to wherever they need to go. One thing is sure, it takes a people person who thrives on variety.
