Design Systems Specialist

This is a hybrid role. 1-2 days a week at their Stamford, CT location.

Looking for a detail-oriented Design Systems Specialist to own and maintain their web design specifications, bridging the gap between design and development. This role is crucial in ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across their digital products by managing their Figma component libraries and their seamless integration with their engineering team's Storybook environment. The ideal candidate will be a "multiplayer person" with expertise in both visual design principles and front-end implementation concerns.

• Key Responsibilities
• Figma Library Management : Develop, manage, and scale our organization's Figma component libraries, including the use of advanced features like Auto Layout, variants, and design tokens.
• Design Specifications & Documentation : Create detailed design specifications and documentation to ensure high-quality, pixel-perfect implementation by development teams.
• Figma-Storybook Integration : Manage the connection between Figma and Storybook using tools like the Figma plugin for Storybook to link design components with their corresponding code components and ensure they stay in sync.
• Cross-functional Collaboration : Act as the primary liaison between design, engineering, and product teams to translate requirements into scalable design solutions and establish clear governance processes.
• Quality Assurance (QA) : Conduct regular design QA and audits of the implemented UI to ensure adherence to design system standards and brand guidelines.
• Accessibility Standards : Ensure all design system components and patterns meet the latest WCAG accessibility standards.
• Workflow Optimization : Identify opportunities for improving design-to-development handoff processes, leveraging Figma's Dev Mode to streamline workflows and provide necessary information to developers.
• Qualifications
• Experience in a multi-product environment with complex scaling needs.
• Knowledge of design tokens and their implementation in code.
• Experience running workshops or creating educational content to drive design system adoption.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00 / hr.
