Zita Group of Company, Inc (ZGC, INC) is a private non-profit organization located in Baltimore MD & Harford Counties. We provide exceptional family support, and home-based care restoring independence in the comfort zone of the individuals with developmental disabilities.
We are looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Direct Support Specialist. The right candidate will be responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you have prior experience working with developmentally disabled adults in a direct care role, we encourage you to apply for this position.
Direct Support Specialist (DSSs) are people who work directly with people with physical disabilities and / or intellectual disabilities with the aim of assisting the individual to become integrated into his / her community or the least restrictive environment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Caregiver to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of our clients and people with developmental disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication(CMT), and other tasks that improve the clients living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge and Abilities
1. Knowledge of the DDA Training or Zita Group will Train.
2. Ability to successfully pass the Criminal Background.
3. Driver License / Vehicle preferred.
Minimum Education, Training, and / or Experience
1. Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, Personal Support, Direct Support Specialist, Med Tech, CNA or similar role is preferred
2. High school diploma / GED required
3. 2+ years experience providing direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
4. Current First Aid / CPR certification.
5. Certified MedicationTechnician (CMT)
6. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
