Environmental Services Technician (or Housekeeper)
Job Summary : The Environmental Services Technician (or Housekeeper) is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of patient care areas, public spaces, and support areas within the facility. This includes the disinfection and cleaning of restrooms, corridors, pre-operative / post-operative areas in compliance with infection control standards and ASC policies. The role requires a focus on patient safety, infection prevention, and maintaining a comfortable and clean environment for both patients and facility staff.
Schedule : Monday-Thursday with occasional Fridays 7am-3 : 30p
Key Responsibilities :
Skills and Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Experience : Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services roles, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
Knowledge : Familiarity with hospital infection control practices, cleaning products, and equipment. Understanding of basic safety protocols, including handling hazardous materials and waste.
Skills : Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (or as required). Ability to stand, bend, squat, and kneel for extended periods. Ability to work in various hospital settings and sterile environments.
Work Environment : Fast-paced, outpatient surgical setting. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially hazardous materials, with appropriate protective equipment provided.
