JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The Central Sterile Technician II performs decontamination, preparation, assembly, sterilization and distribution of surgical, diagnostic and clinical instumentation and reusable medical devices in accordance with HSPC (formally known as IAHCSMM) or CBSPD, AAMI, AORN, JCHO requirements and recommendations. The CS2 will follow all Central Sterile policies and standard operating procedures. The CS2 will serve as a resouce for preceptorship. The CS2 may also aid with process / quality improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certificate of completion from an Accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology Program or 2 years of work related experience in lieu of certificate program.
- Certification in SPD from HSPA (formally known as IAHCSMM) or CBSPD within 6 months of hire
