The Web Designer-UX creates the look and feel of web pages for the LLUH external Web sites and intranet. Supports the LLUH Web Center team with both Internet and intranet design solutions that include User Research, User Experience and User Interface. Develops design that is complimentary to the brand of the organization and the ideas being promoted by the web site. Takes part and provides guidance in the initial planning of a web site, collaborating with Web Specialists and other team members to discuss ideas for the layout and organization of the site, developing a web experience that is tailored for the respective audience. Is responsible for ad-hoc Web design projects as needed. Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, IT or Business or related field required. Minimum four years of experience in user experience or interface design, fine arts, graphic design or publishing required. Experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.

Must understand a target audience and how best to reach that audience through artistic work. Must understand new trends in digital design. Must have an understanding of software functionality as well as graphic design skills to create successful Web pages, Requires a deep understanding of designing and developing graphics for the Web, successful implementation of Web design, User Research practices/techniques, and the flexibility to work with internal clients. Able to create pages that can be viewed on any type of browser and/or system including mobile devices; work with browser/server compatibility. Able to utilize applications and technologies such as Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, Drupal as well as engage basic understanding of accessibility standards, web applications and CSS programming, XHTML programming and other web development languages and technologies. Able to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments; demonstrate excellent verbal and visual communication skills; listen closely to the client and create pages that reflect what the client is looking for; work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment. Able to work well under the pressure of tight deadlines and changing demands; be disciplined in starting projects and budgeting time; work with flexibility as designs may need to be changed frequently. Must be adaptable and able to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; write, hear, read and speak sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.
