Job Summary :

We are looking for a dedicated and safety-oriented Lift Operator & Mechanic to enhance our shipping and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy lift machinery, efficient stacking and organizing of shipping containers, and executing various repairs on containers. The ideal applicant must possess comprehensive knowledge in metal fabrication, including welding and steel cutting, as well as proficiency in wood flooring repair. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits package after 90 days of employment, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. Work hours generally follow a Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operate heavy lift machinery safely and efficiently.

Ensure proper handling and stacking of shipping containers to maximize storage space.

  • Conduct daily inspections of lift equipment to maintain safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on shipping containers.

    • Utilize welding and metal cutting skills for in-depth repairs.

  • Execute wood flooring repair tasks on containers as needed.
  • Oversee shipping container modifications and modifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the workspace.

    • Keep tools and equipment properly stored and in good working condition.

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency.

    • Communicate effectively about equipment performance and potential issues.

  • Assist in training new personnel on lift operations and safety practices.
  • Education :

    • High school diploma or equivalent, technical training in heavy machinery operation preferred.

  • Experience :

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in container and chassis maintenance.

  • 2-3 years of experience in lift operations; intermodal experience is a plus.
  • Skills :

    • Proficiency in metal fabrication techniques including welding and cutting.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
