Budget/Business Technician
The Budget/Business Technician will provide comprehensive financial and operational support across multiple USC Viterbi School of Engineering departments, including the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) and the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (MFD). The successful candidate will assist with budget management, procurement, and other operational tasks, ensuring efficient department function and compliance with university financial systems.
Responsibilities include managing procurement activities, processing reimbursements and travel expenses, tracking and receiving orders, working with Asset Management, coordinating facilities requests, managing equipment maintenance, collaborating with internal and external vendors, scheduling catering, facilitating payment to vendors for department events, assisting with gift processing, donations, and deposits, reconciling purchases, tracking expenses, and processing journals related to purchasing. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the department's financial and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in office financial management, including budgeting, accounts payable, and reconciliations. Proficiency in university systems such as Workday and Concur. Strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Work Location: This on-site position is based at USC's University Park Campus in Los Angeles, CA. Remote work is not available for this position. Salary Range: The hourly rate range for this position is $23.10 - $25.68 per hour, commensurate with experience.
