CVICU RN Job Details Location : Charlottesville, VA 22908 Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Unit : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Start Date : November 10, 2025 End Date : February 9, 2026 Duration : 13-week contract Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM) Hours per Week : 36 or 48 (flexible options) Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend required; work 2 out of 3 winter holidays Orientation : 16 hours (plus up to 16 hours of non-billable modules as required) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1770 - $1820 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or critical care nursing experience Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state; pending accepted but must be in-hand before start) BLS and ACLS certifications required Epic EMR charting experience required BSN preferred Previous charge nurse and Level I Trauma experience preferred Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Ability to float within scope of practice as needed Professional references required CVICU RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries, including heart and lung transplants Operate and manage advanced clinical equipment : ventilators, ECMO, IABP, CRRT, PA catheters, and epicardial pacing wires Assist with specialized procedures such as open chest resuscitation, bronchoscopy, TEE, and cardioversion Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams Maintain strict infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout the recovery process Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Charlottesville, Virginia!
