Description
The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet defined quality and compliance standards. This role involves conducting in-process checks, verifying the accuracy of raw materials and finished goods, documenting deviations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of quality and safety. The QC Technician plays a critical role in upholding regulatory and cGMP requirements and ensuring the integrity of the production process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Product Checks : Conduct statistical product appearance checks, weight checks, and scale calibrations.
- Line Verification : Perform and verify cleanliness of production lines; issue batch labels and update batch entries on the system and daily production board.
- Blending Room QA : Conduct and verify weight checks on batches and cleanliness of all blending rooms and related equipment.
- Math Verification : Perform mathematical verification on batches to ensure correct quantities of materials were used.
- Batch Monitoring : Conduct in-process batch checks including color, taste, IR, and moisture content; input data into the system.
- Equipment Checks : Conduct routine inspections on production equipment to ensure it operates within compliance standards.
- Raw / Finished Goods Inspection : Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products to verify they meet specifications.
- Deviation Reporting : Document and report any deviations from standard operating or quality control procedures.
- Cross-Team Collaboration : Work with production and other departments to identify, communicate, and resolve quality-related issues.
- Audit Participation : Support and participate in internal and external audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Procedure Development : Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing quality control procedures.
- Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Education :Required : High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred : Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Quality Management, or a related field.Experience :Preferred : 1-3 years of experience in quality control within the food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industry.Qualifications :Food Safety Knowledge : Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulations.Regulatory Compliance : Knowledge of cGMPs and quality assurance protocols.Process Management : Ability to follow, monitor, and improve quality control processes.Team Collaboration : Capability to collaborate and communicate effectively across teams.Environmental Adaptability : Ability to work in environments with fluctuating indoor / outdoor temperatures and high noise levels.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing / Walking : Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.Lifting : Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Manual Dexterity : Regular use of hands for data entry, sampling, and testing.Mobility : Frequent bending, reaching, and working in tight production spaces.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Production Floor Exposure : Regular exposure to manufacturing environments including machinery, dust, and temperature variation.PPE Use : Required use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats, gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.Collaboration : Frequent interaction with production, quality, and warehouse teams in a fast-paced setting.Requirements
