Golden Valley Electric Association : Our Mission

GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Your Role As A Accountant

In the Accountant I or II position at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that financial and statistical information is accurately recorded in GVEA's system of accounts, including subsidiary records, and reconciled to the general ledger. Requirements For This Accountant I Or II Job

To thrive as an Accountant I or II at Golden Valley Electric Association, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of progressively responsible accounting experience, demonstrating a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and tools is essential for effectively managing financial data and ensuring accuracy within our systems. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are critical.
