Your Opportunity: Staff Structural Engineer

What You’ll Do

You’ll take on meaningful, skill-building work from day one, including:

• Designing and drafting structural plans for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation structures.
• Turning sketches or verbal concepts into accurate, high-quality drawings.
• Running structural analyses using industry-standard software.
• Preparing quantities, cost estimates, and construction-ready deliverables.
• Participating in design meetings with engineers and clients to align on project goals.
• Visiting project sites to understand field conditions and support construction coordination.
• Managing tasks efficiently with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Reviewing your own work—and supporting CADD Technicians—to ensure quality and accuracy.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Required CADD experience; familiarity with MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, or OpenRoads Designer preferred.
• Experience with 3D structural modeling is a plus.

Compensation Range

$75,000.00 - $115,900.00

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Illinois Salary Transparency amendment to the Equal Pay Act of 2003. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
