Systems & Controls Engineer

Overview

Job Description : The Test Facilities Responsible SME leads all hardware / software troubleshooting, repair, installation, maintenance and integration at our various test facilities. The engineer will work with our instrumentation technicians (UAW) employees to meet customer needs in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, unionized, testing environment. The selected candidate will coordinate all PLCs, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and software integration activities across the various test facilities and our calibration lab at the proving grounds. The engineer will coach and mentor other team members in utilizing World Class Engineering techniques for problem solving and corrective action implementation.

Responsibilities

• Possess a general level of technical understanding related to basic electrical fundamentals : wire harnesses, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, calibration, HMI, data acquisition, etc.
• Direct supervision of and working with unionized technicians in all maintenance activities
• Will possess or be willing to learn ISO documentation, automotive regulatory needs etc.
