Cook / Environmental Attendant
Location : Falls Mills, VA
Reports to : Director of Nutrition & Custodial Supervisor
Summary
Prepares meals for participants in on-site programs and for home delivery. Performs other kitchen and food service activities as directed. Maintains a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for participants by following recipes and performing safe food handling techniques.
- Prepare and pack meals for home delivery.
- Wash dishes and place into designated storage areas.
- Prepare grocery inventory, place orders and stock monthly.
- Prepare weekly milk and fresh produce list and purchase from approved local supplier.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- Attend all required training.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of participant and agency information.
- Adhere to HIPAA rules and avoid profanity or gossip.
- Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors as needed using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment.
- Cleans windows at front entrance daily and office windows inside / outside (weather permitting).
- Clean area outside front and side entrances, collect trash daily.
- Gather and empty trash containers in all areas daily.
- Clean restrooms daily, mopping, disinfecting.
- Clean soiled carpets as requested.
- Clean and mop all tile floors daily and buff floors as needed.
- Clean and polish furniture as needed.
- Set up and arrange tables and chairs for agency events.
- Track ordering of maintenance / cleaning supplies.
- Perform other agency-related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate and maintain good ethics.

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Graduation from high school or equivalent is preferred. Training in vocational or business education while in high school is preferred.One year experience in food preparation, handling, storage and sanitation measures (required). Training or education in these areas is preferred.Serve Safe certification (preferred).Good references from previous employment.Reliable transportation to and from work site.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach regularly.J-18808-Ljbffr
