Lead Laboratory Assistant at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. This position is full-time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

The Lead Laboratory Technician works under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor and / or Lab Director and in their absence under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), to provide technical, clerical and patient care support services. The Lead Laboratory Technician will work very closely with the Lab Director and Supervisors / CLS Leads to assist in providing leadership and guidance to the LTA staff. The Lead Laboratory Technician performs a variety of procedures including venipuncture, skin puncture, specimen collection, specimen processing and distribution and the operation and maintenance of automated instrumentation up to but not including the resulting of laboratory data.

Required Qualifications :

Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.

Upon hire : California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License, or

Upon hire : California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License

Must meet the physical requirements of this job listed on the RU-91 form for Laboratory Technician.

Preferred Qualifications :

H.S. Diploma or GED

Upon hire : Phlebotomy Certification

1 year experience as a Laboratory Technician in a hospital based clinical Laboratory.

1 year experience as a Phlebotomist.
