About The Position

Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician Profession : Surgical Services Specialty : Sterile Processing Tech Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Mid Hours per Shift : 8 hours (14 : 30 - 23 : 00) Experience : Minimum 5 years required License : Must have state license in hand at submission Certifications : IAHCSMM / HSPA preferred Must-Have : No first-timers accepted No on-call required Candidates must float within their scope to meet facility needs if needed Description : The position is for a Sterile Processing Technician. The shift is Monday through Friday, with an average daily census of 50-55. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. Candidates must have experience in an acute care hospital setting. Candidates with trauma Level I experience are preferred. First-timers will not be accepted for this position. Certification from IAHCSMM or HSPA is preferred. Floating within the facility or to nearby affiliate locations is required for all travelers. Ideal candidates should be open to accommodating block schedules, which can be discussed with management. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. RTO restrictions ideally should not exceed 5 days. Candidates must be able to complete full assignments with no attendance or behavior issues. The facility is a Level I trauma center and a Magnet hospital. Scrubs should be any solid color. Charting will be done using Cerner. Candidates should possess a comprehensive skill set in sterile processing, including but not limited to, high-level disinfection, sterilization wrapping procedures, and efficient organization of surgical instruments. Proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials are essential skills.
