Overview
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our Electric Powertrain Control Systems team. In this role, you'll focus on the design, development, simulation, and validation of powertrain control systems for electric powertrain products. You will work with a global team to create and optimize control features that support a range of electrified powertrain architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Develop control system requirements based on overall system performance and functionality.
Design and implement reusable control features for various electric and hybrid powertrain systems using model-based development.
Use simulation and virtual tools to test and optimize control system performance.
Validate and refine control features through lab and machine testing, using CAN and Ethernet-based tools.
Analyze test data, identify root causes of issues, and document feature performance.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable control solutions.
Work Environment
Team Size : Approximately 20 members with 4 team leads.
Collaboration : Frequent interaction with cross-functional partners.
Setting : Office, lab, and machine testing environments.
Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
Master's degree holders may be considered with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience : Minimum 5 years of related experience (automotive or similar industry preferred).
Technical Skills :
Strong background in model-based control design using MATLAB / Simulink and Stateflow.
Experience in virtual product development and simulation-based testing.
Hands-on experience with control software tools and processes.
Familiarity with CAN development tools (Vector CANape, CANalyzer, or ATI Vision).
Experience with electromechanical, transmission, hybrid, or powertrain control systems.
Preferred Background
Candidates with a background in automotive controls engineering or hands-on software development for embedded powertrain systems will be a great fit.
Top Technical Skills
Model-Based Controls Development using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow to design and simulate control algorithms.
Powertrain & Electromechanical Systems experience developing controls for electric, hybrid, or transmission systems .
Virtual Product Development ability to use simulation and modeling tools for system testing and optimization before physical validation.
Control Software Development Tools & Processes understanding of embedded software workflows, version control, and validation techniques.
CAN & Communication Tools hands-on experience with Vector CANape, CANalyzer, or ATI Vision for diagnostics, testing, and calibration.
System Testing & Validation experience testing in lab, vehicle, or machine environments to verify control functionality.
