Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic)

Overview

This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a General Medical Officer (Radiology) in a Class I USA Hospital providing examination, diagnostic service, patient care and treatment of diseases and injuries by surgical and conservative means and consultation service for patients throughout the Radiology Department.
• Provides radiological diagnostic service and treatment for active duty military, retired and dependents of active duty and retired military.Examines and treats problems in all age groups and is available as a practitioner and consultant in Radiology. Reviews and studies medical histories and progress of patients.
• Provides radiological care for patients. Examines patient, makes diagnosis of disease, disorder, or injury and treats patient occasionally. Conserves health of personnel by application of diversified knowledge of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic medical and surgical measures. Performs radiological procedures in emergencies and seeks advice of consultants when required. Instructs and supervises other medical personnel in care and treatment of patients.
• Participates in continuing education programs. Administers and prescribes medicine and treatment. Records medical data or case history on prescribed Army Medical Department or other agency forms as appropriate. Participates in Medical Audits as appropriate. Participates in training of physician assistants, medical students, and radiologic technologists. Takes call on evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
