Job Details

Administers contrast material according to physician's request by means of existing vascular access point; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.

All functions and duties under direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.

Assists with inventory and supplies.

Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.

Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.

Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.

Documents accurately and completely according to established policies and procedures.

Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.

Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.

Performs on call duties and / or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.

Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.

Administers and withholds contrast and treatment as appropriate.

Assesses patients for allergies.

Can pull supplies for procedures.

Takes call within 6 months.

Cardiac Cath Lab work including left heart cath, with / without coronary stenting, right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure.

Structural Heart Procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD / PFO and CardioMEMs.

Hybrid Peripheral Vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery including EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR.

Adjunctive tools to complete procedures including ICUS, FFR / iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO.

Job Requirements

Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately.

Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.

Manual dexterity to handle small supplies.

Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting preferred.

Experience with Interventional Neurology preferred.

Required Education : Associate's Degree in Related Field OR Certificate in Radiologic Technology.

Schedule Information

Performs on call duties and / or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.

Takes call within 6 months.

Unit Specific Information

Cardiac Cath Lab including left and right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure.

Structural Heart Procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD / PFO and CardioMEMs.

Additional Details

Preferred Skills & Experience : Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting.
