HR assistants are involved in a number of areas including :
General HR
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and operational support to Human Resource Manager
- Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
- Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
- Conduct research for projects and as requested
- Filter all Human Resource department phone calls
- Respond to reference checks and verifications of employment status
- Assist HR programs such as new employee orientation, training programs and company events
- Assist with payroll processing with progressive added responsibilities.
- Assist with Recruiting : Assist in screening forms and resumes of applicants. Plan and schedule interviews with candidates Performing reference and background checks
- Administration and tracking of On-boarding and Off-boarding including but not limited to collecting employment information, background checks, preparing new employee file, ensuring completion of all required documents, entering information in HRIS, E-verify, New hire reporting and exit interviews.
- Assist with Employee housing – tracking leases, deposits, rent deduction and house inspections.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information
- Assist with Open enrollment administration and activities
- Assist with J1 Visa Program and Internship program
- All other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field Required (Bachelors’ Degree Preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in a Human Resources position, a plusHRIS experience (Knowledge of UKG system, a plus.)Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Advanced in ExcelSkills

The work environment for this position is generally an indoor controlled environment. Noise level is moderate; expect noises like office machines and light traffic.May be requested to work overtime and weekends during the company’s in-season time period.May be requested to drive company vehicle to other locations.Physical Requirements
About 1 / 3 of one's time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 of one's time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Expect to lift up to 25 lbs. Some other physical demands come from continuous computer work, cash register work, sales floor work, events work, and mail order work.
