Overview
Event Technical Specialist - Audio - Nashville, TN. Base pay range : $24.30 / hr - $29.77 / hr.
The Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical set up and operation of enhanced mid-level production events in a hospitality environment, while ensuring client satisfaction. This position reports to an Associate Director of Project Management or Director of Project Management in their assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section. Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly. Comply with all company security and safety measures. Ensure equipment is secure from theft and / or damage when in use.
- Customer Service : Provide excellent service and strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers. Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication. Collaborate with internal team on event solutions pre-event and during event to ensure the best possible customer satisfaction. Understand and foster the hotel / client relationship.
- Training / Staff Development : Create an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees. Provide mentorship and coaching to technical, sales and operations team members to develop technical skills as needed. Develop self as subject matter expert in discipline of specialty. Stay current with technology and industry trends.
- Event Supervision : Perform advanced work (pre / during / post event) with operations team members. Supervise and direct other technicians during an event.
- Equipment Maintenance : Assist team with proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment. Perform inventory and forecasting of equipment needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred3+ years of event technology experience with specialty in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video is required3-4 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferredInternal applicants must meet / complete all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program in their current position, and for the position they are applying to. Hotel / convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and / or dust. Working conditions range from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Willingness to work in multiple hotel locations. Irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines per Encore standards.
