General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker - Off Shift - 19/hr

Job Description

Join a dynamic team at a steel alloys company where you will be responsible for repurposing incoming products. This role involves training during the day and working on either 2nd or 3rd shifts in various facility areas such as laser cutting, water jet cutting, shipping, receiving, grinding, and saw cutting. Candidates typically start on the saws or sheers and will become forklift and overhead crane certified.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Learn and grow in various areas of the facility with guidance from the company to find the best fit.
• Move materials using a forklift or overhead crane.
• Build custom pallets in the packaging area for shipping.
• Load and unload trucks at receiving docks.
• Remove steel from racks and place it on machines using overhead suction cups or cranes.
• Cut material and prepare it for packaging and shipping.
• Use a tape measure down to 1/16th and convert fractions and decimals.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use a tape measure down to 1/16th.
• Capability to lift and move 75 lbs consistently.
• Skill in converting fractions and decimals.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or skilled backgrounds preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Steel experience is ideal.
• Experience as a water jet or laser operator.
• Forklift and overhead crane usage.
• Previous use of micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Work Environment

Work in a mid-sized alloy company focused on heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant metals, with a 70-80 person site being the largest corporate site. The facility is brand new, extremely clean, well-lit, spacious, and safety-driven. The company is constantly reinvesting in operations with a 3-shift operation from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. PPE required includes hard hats, steel toe shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and eventually metatarsal shoes. Candidates can wear jeans and t-shirts until uniforms are provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maumee, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
